Road Rangers
Road Rangers help drivers along central Florida's toll roads, including State Road 408, State Road 417, State Road 414, State Road 429 and State Road 528. The program is a joint service of the Orlando-Orange County Expressway Authority and Florida's Turnpike Enterprise. The Road Rangers help more than 3,000 motorists every month who need minor breakdown assistance, like a flat tire changed or gas. They also help with traffic control at crash scenes and keep the roadways clear of debris and safe for travel. They're on patrol seven days a week, 365 days a year from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. They'll stop to help if they see you pulled over to the side of the road.
A Road Ranger's tool kit includes:

Florida's "Move Over" law requires you to move over for emergency vehicles stopped on the side of the road, including Road Rangers, fire trucks, ambulances and law enforcement vehicles. If you're driving on the expressway or any other multiple-lane roadway, and you approach one of these vehicles, you must vacate the lane closest to that vehicle as soon as it is safe to do so. If you are not able to safely move over, you must slow down to a speed of 20 miles-per-hour below the posted speed limit, unless otherwise directed by a law enforcement officer.
The Road Rangers and other emergency responders are there to keep you safe. Please do your part to help keep them safe.
Florida Highway Patrol
The Expressway Authority contracts with Florida Highway Patrol Troop D in Orlando to provide dedicated patrols. There are up to three troopers on the Expressway Authority system during busy travel times to insure a prompt response to calls for service. The primary goal of the program is to provide a quick response to incidents on the expressway in an effort to eliminate congestion as quickly as possible. The patrol cars have also been equipped with Cardiac Defibrillators in case a customer on the Expressway Authority system should experience a medical emergency. In October 2002, a defibrillator was successfully used for the first time to revive a driver who was suffering a heart attack.
